The council needs to improve adult social care. A watchdog called CQC checked the council’s work, looking at nine areas and giving scores. One means low and four means high standards. The council got two in seven areas, including assessing needs and care.

They scored three for safeguarding and partnership work. People had mixed feelings about assessment waits, with the CQC saying waiting times were too long. Some folks struggled to get info and support, especially non-English speakers.

Older adults had problems online, and carers weren’t happy with Haringey’s services, as only 23% were satisfied, lower than average. Many people were placed outside London, likely limiting their care choices.

The council is trying to improve things. The CQC saw efforts to support independence, and reablement services were very helpful. The council also cut rough sleeping by a lot and have good safeguarding processes too.

The council understands where things need work and wants to improve things for the community. Council leaders said they are working to improve, noting areas of strong leadership. The council will create an improvement board.

The council faces budget issues and higher demands. Despite this, they want to give the best care, learn from this report’s results, and truly support residents.
