Council invests in greener upgrades, new builds, and repairs to improve homes and lower energy bills for families.

They plan to build 3,000 new homes by 2031. The Housing Revenue Account details this. Over 2,000 homes already exist or are being built. Almost 300 homes are getting greener upgrades now. This should lower energy bills for poorer families.
The council aims for decent homes for all by 2028. They will fix kitchens and bathrooms. Heating and electrics also get upgrades. Roofs, windows, and doors will be replaced.
Sarah Williams talked about housing commitment. She wants safe, warm, stable homes for residents. She also mentioned budget problems, like rising costs. These add to the cost of construction. Repairs and safety work also increased.
She said they still invest despite pressures. They are building affordable houses. Local people really need these homes. The HRA handles council housing money. It tracks costs and income for council homes. It also covers services for tenants’ benefit.
