Hey, something happened in Hartlepool on Sunday. There was a crash reported on the A179 westbound around 4:15 PM. Police and emergency services showed up fast. It involved a BMW 330, plus a pedestrian.

Sadly, the pedestrian, a 25-year-old man, died. They pronounced him dead right there. That sounds awful, right? The A179 road closed for quite some time.

It’s the road connecting Hart Village and the Raby Arms. Police asked everyone to take different routes. It really messed up traffic. A 27-year-old man faces some charges now.

They charged him with driving without a valid license. He also had no insurance for the car. Plus, he allegedly entered the UK illegally. He’s going to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court tomorrow. That’s on February 11th.

The police want more information. They are asking for anyone who saw anything. Also, anyone who has dash cam footage should speak up. Call Cleveland Police at 101, quoting 23736.

The ambulance service released a statement. They said they got the call about the accident around 4:15 PM. They sent a lot of help quickly. They dispatched two ambulances and a specialist paramedic. A clinical team leader also joined. Plus, they requested the Great North Air Ambulance’s support.
