New repair cafe launches. It helps reuse items, saves money and offers community support.

Stacy Hart and Jonathan Jenkin started the café because they care about Earth and community projects. Hart said it saves stuff and money, stopping usable items from going to waste.
At the first event, they fixed thirty things. Volunteers repaired lights, a record player, a zipper, and garden shears. The launch went really well, you know?
Hart thanked the volunteers and people using the service. People get help first-come, first-served. They can check out books and have a snack while donations are welcome, though the service is free.
Jenkin said helpers share fading skills. Losing skills means people throw away good stuff. They want skilled people to join the team as they have stations for many repair types.
They even have tasks for people who aren’t so handy. People can help with admin or refreshments. The next café is Saturday, March 1st, and will continue monthly.
