Council considers Widdington Recycling’s appeal against Suffolk County Council’s enforcement notice over alleged waste breaches.

The notice said to stop accepting waste and remove decaying waste. They had three days after January 10th. Suffolk County Council gave the company the notice.
The council wants any inquiry in Haverhill, so that local businesses can speak up. The company allegedly had decaying waste bags which supposedly attracted pests and flies.
A council member is surprised they are fighting the notice, as he thinks it hurt neighborhoods. He’d hate if their appeal succeeds, stating it would be terrible.
The county accused the company of seven breaches. These breaches broke rules from March 2013. They started work early, before 7:30 am, and also added lights without permission.
The site can only store demolition materials, but they took household, commercial, and garden waste. They even took decaying waste, some say. People complained about smells, flies, and vermin.
Another council member scoffed at the appeal’s reason. He is curious about the county council’s next move. The order asked them to remove buildings and equipment, including the office, plant, mixer, and fencing.
