Hey, I saw some interesting crime data. It covers train stations in our area. BTP released the latest figures.

Romford, Hornchurch, Gidea Park, and Elm Park experienced a reduction in crime. This was comparing February 2024-January 2025 to the preceding year. Crime saw a significant decrease at both Gidea Park and Elm Park, dropping by at least half.

Conversely, Upminster and Harold Wood stations reported an increase in crime incidents. In particular, crime more than doubled at Upminster Bridge station.

Romford, being the busiest station, recorded the highest number of crimes with 42 incidents. However, this is a decrease from the 53 incidents reported the previous year. Within these incidents, 12 were classified as public order offenses, and 10 were violent and sexual offenses.

Upminster station reported the second-highest crime count with 19 incidents, up eight from the previous year. Six of these crimes were related to vehicles. Harold Wood saw 18 incidents, an increase of three from the year before, with seven being bicycle thefts and four being vehicle thefts.

Elm Park experienced the most significant decrease in crime, falling from 17 incidents to just seven. Four of these remaining incidents were classified as violent or sexual crimes. Gidea Park reported nine incidents, primarily thefts and public order issues, with no reported violent or sexual crimes.

Upminster Bridge nearly doubled its crime rate, jumping from five to eleven incidents. Four of these were classified as damage or arson crimes, while three were categorized as violent or sexual offenses.

Emerson Park station recorded only one incident, classified as arson or criminal damage. No data was available for Rainham station.
