Haydock Finance sponsors The Wish Centre’s Secret Garden Spring Ball at Dunkenhalgh Hotel, aiding domestic abuse victims.
The ball will occur at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel on Saturday, April 5th. The Wish Centre operates in Blackburn and has been there for over thirty years. This place helps more than 3,800 people each year.
Many people seeking help face a crisis and often lack other support options. The charity has two refuge houses which offer safe places where women and children can seek protection.
Haydock’s HR head, Debbie Hallam, spoke about the event and said last year’s event was very successful. Haydock is happy to sponsor the ball again, noting that The Wish Centre does important work. Refuge referrals increased greatly.
Last year’s event showed how vital this is; these events raise funds for The Wish Centre, allowing their crucial work to continue. The Wish Centre’s Rebekah Wilson also spoke, describing the difficulty abuse victims face.
Domestic abuse affects victims’ health, impacting their mental and physical well-being. The Wish Centre gives these families a lifeline, and the funds from the ball help them provide this. They appreciate Haydock Finance’s support and the community’s generosity.
