A guy got caught with a lot of cash. It happened at Heathrow Airport. He had a suitcase with £400,000 in banknotes. Border Force stopped him on Wednesday.

The guy’s name is Broomand Nasab. He is 41 years old and from Austria. Nasab was trying to fly to Turkey. Police also found euros in his backpack.

The backpack held nearly 11,000 euros, which equals about £9,100. Police seized all the cash and arrested Nasab at the airport.

An investigation followed the arrest. Nasab was charged with money laundering and was due in court on Friday at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.

Money laundering hides illegal money. It makes it look like it came from a legal source, allowing criminals to use the money again whether to keep it or use it for more crimes.

The National Crime Agency commented on the arrest and investigated the cash find. Nasab was charged because of their work after he tried to leave the UK and was stopped by Border Force.
