Two Glasgow newspapers team up for a series on the city’s future, examining its challenges and need for improvements.

The series runs Monday to Friday and has over 40 articles. It shows Glasgow’s financial crisis. The series will ask what improvements they need and questions the urgency for change.
The series includes a trip to Manchester to interview Mayor Andy Burnham. They want to learn from Manchester’s example.
The Herald’s editor, Catherine Salmond, spoke about the series. She thinks examining Glasgow is timely as it’s celebrating 850 years. She believes they found the right balance between passion and being critical.
Salmond said everyone wants Glasgow to succeed, stating that Glasgow must thrive to attract investment. People must ask hard questions and should have open discussions. She wants the papers to guide these talks collaboratively.
Glasgow Times editor Stacey Mullen also commented, stating that she’s excited to work with The Herald. Their investigation examines Glasgow’s future. Her team lives and works in Glasgow, so they care about the city and their readers.
Mullen is a proud Glaswegian, so this series matters to her. Glasgow celebrates its 850th year. They will host the Commonwealth Games next year. Glasgow excels in many things, but they can always improve, she stated.
