Ian Jameson died in a fire at his Hersden home Friday night. He was known as a true gentleman. The fire department responded after items on the stove ignited when someone accidentally turned on the hob.

Ian had survived a coma from Covid, but his lungs were damaged. It is thought smoke overcame him. His two dogs, Benson and Luna, died too.

Friends remember Ian fondly, calling him wonderful. He loved his family very much, and people will sadly miss him. Fire crews helped paramedics secure the scene after the fire had been extinguished.

The fire was accidental, caused by items on the hob catching fire and police do not suspect foul play. A fundraiser aiding Ian’s wife, Gail, has already raised over £4,000.

Louise Murphy started the appeal, noting Ian’s past Covid battle and the lung damage it caused. He needed Gail’s care, but they lacked life insurance. Donations will help Gail now.

Ian left the hospital in 2020 after his five-week Covid fight, including two weeks in a coma when Gail couldn’t visit. Staff passed her messages to him. They planned to renew vows, wanting NHS staff there.
