Police did a big operation yesterday, March 5th. Officers searched several buildings in Padiham and Burnley. They looked into stolen machinery cases; the thefts happened across the UK, including Hertfordshire.

Police then arrested ten people: six men and four women. These arrests involved charges of theft and fraud schemes.

A 44-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman got arrested on Kay Street. A 44-year-old man was arrested on Milton Street, and a 43-year-old man was arrested on Ribble Street.

A 69-year-old man and a 62-year-old man got arrested at Crosshills. Police arrested a 57-year-old man on Accrington Road, while a 29-year-old woman got arrested on Devon Grove.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Carvell spoke about the operation, explaining that the investigation focused on stolen equipment worth around £700,000. He believes the suspects used fake IDs to rent machines with no intention of returning them. He thanked the officers helping out and expressed hope that businesses feel safer now.
