Since November 2024, thieves robbed many homes. They stole gold and jewels worth over £100,000. The total number of targeted homes is twenty-five.

Watford had eleven robberies, while Hemel Hempstead experienced four. These towns were hit hardest by the burglaries.

Police suggest caution when wearing jewelry and to avoid showing valuable items in public places. This reduces the risk of attracting thieves. Securely store valuable items at home, or use a bank safety deposit box. This is a safer place that protects them from potential theft.

Large jewelry collections can attract criminals. Hiding your gold and jewels helps, as burglars target empty, unsecured houses. Simple security deters them.

Protect significant investments in gold and safeguard valuable family items. Last month, police asked for help regarding a burglary in Borehamwood. This burglary occurred on December 20th between 2 PM and 8 PM at an address on Ashley Drive.

Thieves stole mainly jewelry, including bracelets and rings worth thousands of pounds. A safe with gold was also stolen, along with a handbag and baby shower cards containing money.

Police advise you to remove jewelry and avoid keeping it inside your house. Instead, use a safety deposit box, which your bank can help you obtain.

Use a doorbell camera on your property and set up an internal camera. Get a monitored burglar alarm and double-lock doors, always.

Keep windows closed and locked securely, and install lights that turn on at dusk and off at dawn automatically. Use timer switches for lights and control radios and a simulated TV.

Keep keys and valuables out of sight. Secure boundary fences with locked gates. Photograph valuables and list them, including make, model, and value, and keep information in a safe place.

Keep valuables in your carry-on bag when traveling, as it stays with you always. This reduces the risk of loss. Mark valuables forensically for tracing using options like Selecta DNA or Smartwater. Get expert advice before marking special items.
