HH Hair Shortlisted for Best Hairdresser in Bradford Competition

The Best Hairdresser 2025 contest is underway. Readers nominated their favorite hairdressers, and organizers narrowed down the list to ten finalists. They are now featuring each finalist, and HH Hair in Shipley is one of the contenders.

Charlie Heap owns HH Hair and is happy to be a finalist. She credits her customers for the salon’s success, noting that they always support the salon. Charlie said she appreciates their support a lot and thinks the salon would not exist without them.

Charlie and Jonny started HH Hair in 2020. Covid restrictions heavily impacted the industry, and Charlie rented a styling chair at another salon back then. Reopening plans meant social distancing, which seemed impractical in a small space.

Charlie and Jonny talked about opening their own salon, and soon, they decided to go for it. They bought a salon three days before lockdown ended. July 4th arrived, and they decorated the salon quickly, even though Charlie had very little money left at the time.

HH Hair aims to be Bradford’s best alternative salon. They want to provide a safe space for everyone, and Charlie believes in celebrating differences. The salon has a unique and quirky style, with people saying the decor resembles a tattoo studio. The salon will soon be five years old.
