Barratt London wants to build flats. They plan four blocks near the Tube station. The location is the car park and storage area. It has 160 spaces.

Last year, they asked neighbors for feedback. The plans included new shops. The Barnet Society didn’t oppose new housing then, but they disliked losing the entire car park.

Robin Bishop spoke for the society. He raised concerns about infrastructure. The roads might struggle to support more residents.

Current plans keep existing Blue Badge parking. New homes will sit on the station’s old car park.

The developer started another consultation now. These proposals are “updated,” they say. A spokesperson mentioned a “new crossing location” on Barnet Hill.

The spokesperson said details are coming soon. They address concerns about building height and are also looking at parking rules and alterations that respond to feedback from locals.

Rachel Wood works at Places for London. She mentioned the project is a fantastic chance to redevelop an underused spot.

The plan includes 300 new homes. Forty percent will be affordable. The area around the station will be transformed, and the public space will be thoughtful and accessible, she said.
