The Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards happen every year. This is their 19th celebration of Scottish tourism, where people in the industry gather to celebrate their hard work and big wins. The event covers all regions of the Highlands and Islands.

The awards bring leaders and small groups together, as new businesses and old ones share this time to recognize overall excellence. You can nominate folks who give amazing experiences.

The awards boost innovation and top-notch service, and sustainability and overall success also matter. They give awards in many business sections, recognizing bars, hotels, and attractions. Events and cultural spots are also honored.

People who shine get awards too, including titles like “Highland Individual of the Year.” Winners then go to the Scottish Thistle Awards, where the best from all over Scotland compete.

Calum Ross chairs HITA and said the awards boost the tourism industry, as they celebrate innovation and sustainability. It helps responsible growth blossom, too.

HITA showcases the best of the area like food, great lodging and fun activities. Welcoming folks are a big part of the region, and Calum looks forward to hearing about great experiences.

You can nominate a business that you like between March 3rd and March 31st. They will contact the business if you nominate it.

Royal Bank of Scotland sponsors the awards this year. The awards are October 3rd, in Inverness, and this is another time to highlight great businesses.
