Hinkley Point C workers cycle 100 miles from Cardiff to Tenby, raising funds for the Marion Evered Trust, supporting children with cancer.

Ian Barrow and his friends will cycle far from Cardiff to Tenby. This is a 100-mile challenge in South Wales.
They’ve raised £437 so far for the ride and hope to reach their £1,000 goal soon. The money will go to a small cancer charity.
This charity is called the Marion Evered Trust. In 2024, they gave £15,000 to a children’s unit at a Taunton hospital. The charity began in 1974, and it has aided kids with cancer since then. They support those in Oak Ward at the Taunton hospital. Last year, the trust also donated £15,000. This helped fix up a garden for child patients so kids can play there when they visit.
The biking workers are between 24 and 57. They say their fitness levels vary widely. They look forward to the ride on May 10.
The Marion Evered Trust gives money each year to Love Musgrove, the hospital’s charity. The trust is named for a writer. Love Musgrove helps many patients each year and treats over 450,000 people in Somerset. The funds give needed support for the hospital.
According to a trust speaker, they feel lucky because many wonderful people help them do this. They’ll support Ian Barrow’s cycling. The money raised helps kids a lot and adds to the trust’s big yearly donation, sent to the children’s ward.
The hospital is funded by the NHS already, but extra funds help improve many things. New equipment and services are bought, and a good environment helps patients and families. A hospital speaker said donations help people in Somerset and beyond. If you want to help, find their JustGiving page.
