Plans revealed for traffic calming in Holme Wood. Consultation open till March 7. Focus on Broadstone Way Active Travel Route.

It is part of the “Broadstone Way Active Travel Route.” This route aims to boost walking and cycling. The government is funding this project, which costs £415,000.
The road humps will be six to ten meters long. They will be at several junctions with Broadstone Way, including Stirling Crescent and Holsworthy Road. Kesteven Road, Landscove Avenue, St Margarets Avenue, Launceston Drive, Cordingley Street and Broadfield Close are also affected.
Another hump will be at Oddy Street’s junction with Tong Street. A report described the plan’s goal: to reduce Broadstone Way’s barrier effect and improve pedestrian and cycle traffic there.
Holme Wood has fewer car owners than many Bradford areas. This work is part of other Active Travel Scheme projects, including improving the canal towpath between Silsden and Kildwick, and working on the Baildon to Thackley route.
Bradford Council started a public consultation. People can comment until March 7.
