Home Instead Salisbury supports accessible cinema screenings for people with dementia raising £1,100.

The project raised £1,100 for Silver Salisbury, which provides accessible cinema for people with dementia. Screenings began in February 2024 when Everyman Salisbury launched them.
Now about 120 people attend monthly. Mayor Sven Hocking visited a special screening and gave Silver Salisbury a cheque, which Phil Bendall and Helen Gapper provided.
Silver Salisbury helps older people and reduces loneliness in South Wiltshire. They improve health and well-being and supports people in their community.
Screenings happen the first Tuesday monthly. Low lighting creates a relaxed setting, and doors open at 12:30 pm, with films starting at 1 pm.
Helen Gapper co-owns Home Instead Salisbury and is proud of the screenings’ growth. Attendees enjoy socializing and films here. She appreciates the partnership with Everyman Cinema and thanks Silver Salisbury for their support.
Phil Bendall manages Everyman Cinema Salisbury. He wants to offer a welcoming space and looks forward to more experiences.
Screenings will continue with great films and are free for dementia patients and carers. Donations to Silver Salisbury are welcome, and no booking is needed.
