Six timber lodges get the green light for All Saints Hotel, on the golf course. Concerns addressed, plans move forward.

All Saints Hotel wants to add some cool stuff. It’s near Bury St Edmunds, you know? The council got the initial request last May. They want to put bedroom pods on the golf course, meaning part of it’s becoming fancy lodging.
These pods are like little timber caravans. They’re technically movable, on trailer wheels, which means they usually skip planning permission. But, they needed approval for site work, such as drainage and leveling. They also added paths and bike storage.
The pods will sit on the old 10th hole site, close to the hotel and the golf stuff. Guests can reach them walking or by buggy. They’re targeting golfers seeking getaways.
Neighbors weren’t thrilled at first, though. They worried about noise and flooding risks, and Bury Town Council shared similar concerns. One person said golfers might hit toward walkers or homes on Birkdale Court. Two parish councils also objected early on, bringing up light, noise, sewage, drainage, and parking; safety was another worry for them.
Good news! After tweaks, no one objected again later on. They approved the hotel plans last Thursday. The report said it’s mostly okay, with minimal impact on the area, and fits with development policies.
