A new high-speed railway is coming to Buckinghamshire. They are building it near the A413 Wendover Bypass. The railway is west of the road.

HS2 will move water from the site. They are using pipes for this work. They will also build a spring chamber in March. This controls water flow in the area.

Initially, HS2 planned many lorry trips. Their contractor planned twelve daily lorry trips on Dobbins Lane. This plan faced resistance from locals. They were concerned about safety.

Now, HS2 says they will use fewer lorries. They reduced the number from 150 to about 60. This means roughly one round trip each day. It will last for twelve weeks. The contractors reviewed the access track’s design.

HS2 is improving it for chamber maintenance. They simplified the building process. Less material is now needed for the chamber. This also reduces lorry trips for track upgrades. They expect the work will take 12-14 weeks.

A local politician dislikes the reduced lorry use. He thinks sixty lorries are too many. He says this breaks an important rule. HGVs should not go through town centers. He wonders why the council did not object earlier.

David Cobb is a local resident protesting the trucks. He organized a petition with over 700 signatures. He says residents do not care about HS2’s solutions. Other options are much safer. The resident believes HS2 lied about alternative route reviews.

HS2 claims they are happy to cut lorry trips. They limited the speed to 20 mph. They will manage traffic around school times. They state other lorries already use Dobbins Lane. They think HS2 traffic is not a greater risk.
