Hey, something happened in Lewisham! Police closed part of the High Street because people reported a disturbance around 10:45 AM yesterday.

A man was yelling and holding a knife at the scene. Police created a safety zone, and it lasted almost fifteen hours.

Officers entered the building at 1:55 AM and detained the man, who then went to a hospital for care. Police needed time to check the place to see if others were inside.

The council said all cordons are now gone. Folks can go back to their homes, and roads are also open again.

The trouble blocked part of Lewisham High Street. Traffic jammed up between Lee High Road and Belmont Hill. Also, A2211 Rennell Street saw congestion.

Traffic queued half a mile down Lee High Road. Police said the problems started Monday around 10:45 AM. They entered the place early Tuesday, and the man went to the hospital.
