New group, Friends of Hull Road Park, formed. Leaders elected address park improvements & funding.

The group discussed fixing problems in the park. Andrew Mortimer stated they will work with others to improve the park for everyone. Some park areas are in particular need of attention.
The group wants to address the flooded children’s play area and repair footpaths badly in need of fixing. Additionally, they aim to provide more places to sit within the park.
They plan a thorough check of the park to identify the most pressing issues. They also mentioned surveying park visitors to guide their plans and will strive to keep people updated regularly.
York Council intends to create a park fund next year. The group aims to use this money wisely, while also exploring other fundraising options needed for park improvements.
Michael Pavlovic, a local councillor, expressed his happiness about the formation of the group and believes they can accomplish much together. He noted that the ward recently funded new benches and new notice boards are almost ready. The council may invest more in parks soon, potentially benefitting Hull Road Park significantly.
