Style Counsel, a salon in Idle, could be named Bradford’s best. The salon is a finalist for a prestigious award after 41 years.

Andrea’s salon is now up for an award. It is a finalist in the Best Hairdresser competition, and the T&A is giving out the award. Kerri Henderson and Clair Drake plan to honor Andrea’s legacy and want to keep her community alive.
Kerri said her mum opened Style Counsel 41 years ago near their current spot. They moved to the current location about 30 years ago. Many of Andrea’s clients stayed loyal; their children and grandchildren now visit the salon.
The salon offers a family-friendly vibe, and people stop by for coffee, not just haircuts. The atmosphere is very close-knit. Kerri loved working with her mum every day.
The community support has been amazing this past year. People have shown great kindness, and Kerri appreciates it after everyone learned about her mother. Kerri said her mum would do anything for anyone.
Andrea often went above and beyond for her clients. People could talk to Andrea about anything. She dreamed of being a hairdresser, and she worked in salons but wanted her own business.
Kerri says she wishes she could do what her mum did. The job allowed her to see friendly faces daily, and talking about her mum is comforting to Kerri. Andrea was a very hard worker, she explained. They will follow Andrea’s plan; it has worked for 41 years, Kerri shared.
