The lifeboat crew in Ilfracombe got a surprise. Cytiva donated £10,000 to them. Cytiva is a big company with a North Devon office.

Cytiva’s Ilfracombe branch chose RNLI Ilfracombe. Many Cytiva employees love the sea and are now part of Pall Life Sciences.

Ben Berridge, a Projects Director at Cytiva, spoke about the charity choice. He said many enjoy sea activities such as surfing and swimming. He values the RNLI’s constant readiness. Cytiva’s team visited the lifeboat station. They gave the donation in person and also got to meet the crew.

Simon Cowen is on the lifeboat team and also works at Cytiva. He is a key navigator for the RNLI, though he lives outside of Ilfracombe, which made responding tough. Simon asked Cytiva for flexibility so he could be on call at work, and Cytiva gladly offered their support.

Simon is very thankful for Cytiva’s help. It lets him balance work and lifeboat duties, and he is able to help save lives now. Cytiva helps other volunteer employees too, including those with the Coastguard and the Fire Service, allowing them flexibility.

Richard Legg manages RNLI Ilfracombe’s operations. He thanked Cytiva for their support, adding that the donation gives them a strong start. He appreciates Cytiva’s help with Simon.

The RNLI team looks forward to a visit, wanting to show Cytiva their vital work. The crew does incredible things.
