Wokingham approved turning Indigo House into flats. The building is in Mulberry Business Park, and they plan to create 32 new apartments there.

These new homes will have either one or two bedrooms. JE Architecture designed the apartments, and they say big windows will let in lots of light.

The Business Park is on Fishponds Road. CEM Analytical Services and Bell are located there too. The train station is a 20-minute walk, and town is 24 minutes away by foot. Buses run along Molly Millars Lane nearby.

The car park has 88 spaces right now, and there aren’t plans to add extra spaces. The plans assure no noise issues, saying only offices surround the building. The council received other housing applications before this one.

In 2022, they allowed adding a second floor, potentially creating eleven apartments. Four of those would have been affordable. Earlier plans to change the building also existed; approvals happened in 2021 and 2018, but nothing ever came of those earlier approvals.

The Town Council had literally no feedback. Wokingham Borough Council gave the final approval, and the transformation can now proceed.
