Inquest opens into the death of Marcin Wieczorek, 49, after remains were discovered at Chapman’s Pool in December.

The inquest into his death started recently. Richard Middleton is the assistant coroner for Dorset. The hearing was at Bournemouth Town Hall. It occurred on Friday, February 14.
Sarah Harrison shared some details in court. She works for the coroner. Marcin was born in Czeladz, Poland. His birthday was February 22, 1975. He did not have a permanent home. People think he lived near Paignton, Devon.
Marcin was married when he died. The court learned that he did not have a job. Police got a call about remains on December 8. It was around 11:30 a.m. The location was Chapman’s Pool.
Police, the Coastguard, and ambulances went there. They set up a safety area. Police said his death seemed like an accident. They continue investigating the circumstances. DNA helped identify him.
Dr. Albadry performed an autopsy on December 11. The location was Holly Tree Lodge. The doctor could not determine the cause of death. He listed it as “unascertained.”
Middleton wants to move the case. The location where they found him is important. He wants Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay to handle it. The inquest is on hold until the transfer is done. A final date will be set later.
