Jaysley Beck was found dead at Larkhill Camp. She was a 19-year-old Royal Artillery Gunner. This happened on December 15, 2021.

An inquest looked into Gunner Beck’s death. It was held at a coroner’s court. She had complained about Michael Webber in July 2021. He was a senior officer. This happened during training at Thorney Island.

Kirsty Davis trained with Gunner Beck. Davis said Beck called her very early one morning. Davis was also a gunner then. They both joined the Army at Harrogate.

Gunner Beck told Davis something happened. They were having drinks, she reported. Someone “tried it on with her,” Beck said. Davis stated Webber was “trying to kiss her.” She said Beck was pushing him away. He was also “pinning her down.” Beck sent a message saying he was “grabbing my neck for a kiss.”

Davis was on “sleeping guard” elsewhere. Gunner Beck called her about twenty times. Beck didn’t want Davis to end the call. The call lasted all night, Davis explained. Beck seemed worried he would come to her car.

Davis stated Beck was “frightened and crying.” She said Beck hated compliments and they made her feel awkward. He called her “amazing and beautiful,” Davis recalled. Beck said he “tried to force himself
