An inquest has opened into the death of Humaira Bibi, 10, after a car accident. Police are investigating the incident.

Humaira Bibi, age 10, went to the hospital. Sadly, she died from her injuries Monday morning. People are honoring the very popular girl, and her funeral was yesterday in Bradford.
Another girl, age 16, also went to the hospital. Police said her injuries are serious but not life-threatening. A 35-year-old man drove the Yaris, and he was arrested.
Police think he caused death by dangerous driving. After questioning, they released him on bail. Humaira’s inquest started Monday at court. The coroner sadly opened Humaira’s inquest.
The court learned Humaira was born in Bradford on May 7, 2014. She died at Leeds General Infirmary, where her father formally identified her. She died at 7:47 am Monday morning.
The coroner said it was a tragic accident. Police are investigating it actively and asked to pause the inquest. They need to finish their investigation first. The coroner agreed to pause it.
They will review the case on May 15, and next steps will follow then. Humaira went to All Saints Primary School. The headteacher said they are deeply sad they lost a Year Six student, Humaira Bibi.
She was bubbly and well-liked. The school said friends and staff will miss her. They support their community now, as it is a sudden, tragic loss for everyone. The school sends love to her family now.
