Extinction Rebellion protests Holch Povlsen’s Blackbird Air at Inverness Airport over climate concerns.

The protest showed Holch Povlsen’s “contradictions.” He owns Wildland. Wildland fights the climate emergency. Blackbird Air uses private jets. Campaigners want him to close Blackbird Air and invest in clean transportation.
A similar protest occurred in Denmark outside Billund Airport. The two protests connected via video. Holch Povlsen owns lots of land in Scotland, over two hundred thousand acres. He also runs Bestseller and owns ASOS shares.
Private jet use is up, with climate emissions having risen by 50%. Activists want aviation fuel taxed. They want more action on Sustainable Aviation Fuel. One activist noted that private jets hurt climate efforts.
Private jets burn fuel quickly and create ten times more CO2 per person compared to commercial flights. The aviation industry predicts more private jets. An extra 8500 jets should arrive by 2033, but efficiency gains are not enough, they said.
The airport said police attended the protest, but this did not affect passengers.. Inverness Airport operations continued normally. Blackbird Air was asked for their comment.
