Benjamin Drummond attacked a man outside Lochalsh Stores in Inverness, leaving him seriously injured.

The attacker is Benjamin Drummond. He showed up in court and confessed to the assault. It happened outside Lochalsh Stores last October, and the victim suffered serious injuries, putting his life in danger. Drummond also admitted previous convictions, including similar violent acts.
After the attack, Drummond propped the victim up against a wall. Police found the injured man later and took him to Raigmore Hospital. Scans showed brain bruising and bleeding, and doctors suspected a broken nose.
Drummond’s lawyer spoke in court, saying the danger to life was just “theoretical,” which the prosecutor agreed with. The lawyer added his client’s last offense was in 2022 and claimed Drummond’s situation has changed since then.
The Sheriff postponed the sentencing to April 1st, wanting a background report done. Drummond, who is 53, remains out on bail., however the Sheriff said not to assume anything from that decision.
