The Inverness Choral Society sang for four hours straight in Inverness city centre, before shoppers, and raised over £5200.

The Carolthon occurs annually at Eastgate Shopping Centre. The Inverness Choral Society considered this year successful and will split the money with a charity.

Highland and Islands Blood Bikes is their 2024 partner. The choral society gave them £2650 at a rehearsal, where representatives from the charity attended.

The Blood Bikes volunteers transport medical supplies, move lab samples, and transport donor milk, serving the NHS Highland area and beyond.

The choral society needs money for their concerts to pay for the venue, the orchestra, and professional soloists.

The choir picks a new charity each year and they share all Carolthon proceeds equally, splitting donations and sponsorships evenly.

Next year will be the 40th Carolthon event, a popular part of Inverness’ holidays. They play music from “White Christmas” to Handel.

The choir has raised around £80,000 total, supporting local charities since starting.
