Inverness Sheriff Court saw some interesting cases this week. A woman, Samantha Stewart, faced the court. She’s 35 and was grieving when she sped away from police. The chase went through Inverness streets. She’s now going to jail for 14 months. Stewart admitted seven charges via video.

Keith Mowat also appeared via video link. He’s a man from the Highlands. He paid teen girls for photos, involving foot fetishes and private parts.
He sent pictures of his own body. He paid up to £750 monthly. The girls were 13 and 17. He faces a long sentence.

Ryan Ralph, a driver, was in court too. He crashed into a taxi which was carrying a dialysis patient who was going home to Nairn. The accident happened on November 14, 2023. The Sheriff found Ralph not guilty.

Poasa Nawacalevu was in court for assault. He pushed a woman down after hearing racist comments, causing her head to hit the kerb. This happened on June 2, 2024, and she was knocked out. Nawacalevu is lucky she lived.

Demi MacLennan will be sentenced next month. She attacked an off-duty police officer, kicking the officer’s head while she was on the ground. Malcolm Watson also faces charges but he didn’t attend court. He admitted abusive behavior and assault.
