Ipswich cubs toured Liverpool Street Station, learning about railway operations and potential careers.

The cubs toured the station, and got to try some station tasks. It was hands-on learning for the kids that day.
Thalia Woodgate said the cubs had a great day. She mentioned they learned about a major train station, and that it’s the UK’s busiest!
She thanked Greater Anglia’s team for making the day fun and interesting, and said the day showed possible railway careers.
James Nunn, their cub scout leader, said the cubs would remember the visit. He shared that all the staff were friendly, and their team loved hosting them that day.
They explained how a station works so kids could understand, with eight to ten-year-olds even participating. One cub even wants to work for Greater Anglia when he grows up, inspired by the station visit.
The Ipswich Scout Group earned a special scout badge, the first in Suffolk to earn it, after learning about rail safety at Derby Road station with the CRP. This badge program, called ‘Platforms for Change’, is a Community Rail Network project where Cubs and Scouts learn about how railways function.
