Two local hospices, St Elizabeth and EACH, will receive funding to upgrade facilities after a visit from their local MP.

St Elizabeth Hospice gets £239,262. East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices gets £222,453. They can use this to upgrade things, covering new equipment and fixing up buildings. It also helps with tech and energy efficiency.
The government plans more help later. £75 million more will become available in April, a huge investment for hospices all over the country.
Jack Abbott is an MP. He went to St Elizabeth Hospice today to learn about end-of-life care and see the care they give.
Mr. Abbott talked after his visit, saying the hospice helps the community. They offer key care when people need it. He also visited EACH before and saw their care for kids with tough illnesses.
The money arrives during 2024/25, with the £75 million coming from April, all from the Health Department. St Elizabeth Hospice is in Ipswich and cares for people in Suffolk, like Stowmarket.
EACH runs hospices in different places: Ipswich, Cambridge, and Norwich. Judi Newman runs St Elizabeth Hospice and liked meeting Jack today. The money will improve their hospice and help them give good care.
