Nathan Clipstone jailed 16 months for assault with a metal pole. The victim suffered serious injuries and required hospitalization.

Clipstone went to the victim’s home around 6 a.m. The court learned that he brought a metal pole with him. The victim woke up to Clipstone hitting him with both the pole and his fists.
The victim asked Clipstone, “What are you doing?”. Clipstone laughed at him and hit the victim again with the metal bar. He then punched him hard, leaving a ring mark on his face.
Clipstone briefly stopped hitting the victim before placing his phone on a radiator. He began filming the ongoing attack while the victim was bleeding heavily and had a deep cut near his eye.
Doctors feared brain bleeding, and the victim stayed in the hospital for three days. Pictures showed a significant amount of blood in the home, along with many broken items.
The judge noted that Clipstone has many past convictions, specifically 34 convictions for 104 different crimes. The defense lawyer addressed Clipstone’s mental health, mentioning ADHD and a violent upbringing.
Ultimately, Judge Kelly sentenced Clipstone to 16 months in jail. He must also pay the victim £187 in compensation.
