A man was jailed for 10 months after threatening a telecoms engineer with a knife in Ipswich due to noise complaints.

Tanase told police he was angry because drilling noises occurred for several evenings. He had to wake up at three AM for work, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Tanase, who is 55, admitted he took a knife onto the street. He also admitted to being drunk at that time.
The incident occurred last year on June 9 around 10:30 PM. The defendant approached the engineer, shouting, swearing and saying he was sick of him. He threatened to show him who was in charge.
Tanase also admitted to past thefts, including stealing underwear from TK Maxx in Buttermarket. He also stole alcohol from a Sainsbury’s.
Tanase said he wanted to scare the workers because of the noise. He told the court he did not mean to hurt them.
The telecom engineer provided a statement expressing frustration with Tanase’s actions. He felt threatened by a resident while doing work to help people, and he thought they deserved respect.
He wasn’t scared, but concerned, worrying Tanase might get physical.
Tanase admitted to threatening someone with a knife and received a 10-month jail sentence.
