Ipswich Council reconsiders plans for Pauls Silo after previous leisure space idea was abandoned due to costs and market changes.

She wanted to know what would happen to the old building. It’s on the Waterfront and is currently empty.
Last July, the council changed its plans. They won’t use money for a leisure space there. That money will now help other downtown projects. The council stated nobody wanted a leisure space there.
They already spent money exploring ideas. They looked at 34 different suggestions from developers.
MacDonald said the building is complicated. It was built in the 1960s to store grain. Its future use needs careful thought.
The building has asbestos. It also has machine parts that are potentially dangerous. So, future plans might not be for leisure. The council once considered a food hall. Other leisure ideas were also considered.
They are now looking at new options. Toby Warren from the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce spoke. He said they were sad about the project being canceled. Warren said the project started years ago. Costs increased a lot since then. Market interest has also changed.
