Crime at Ipswich railway station declines sharply, with overall offenses nearly halved in the past year.

Violent and sexual offenses also saw a slight drop. They went from 14 to 13. Good news about some specific crimes, too; bicycle theft dropped big time, going from eight to two. Drug offenses went from nine to zero.
Vehicle crime also dropped to zero. Shoplifting went from three cases to zero. Theft from a person decreased from one to zero too. Not all the news was good, though.
Weapon possession actually increased a bit. There were two cases, and in the following year, there were three. Some crimes stayed the same. Public order offenses held steady at 12 both years. Criminal damage and arson had two cases each year.
British Transport Police are focused on safety for all. They said rail travel is generally safe. The rate was about 29 crimes per million journeys. Police are working hard to prevent crime.
