The Sekforde pub avoids major license changes after Islington Council review thanks to public support.

Neighbors complained about noise for two years. They mentioned loud talking and singing. They also cited unnecessary loud laughing.
Officials wanted to restrict outdoor drinking and limit tables outside. The pub said it might close last December.
Luckily, things changed at a meeting. Councillors decided against many changes. Public support really helped the pub.
People can still drink outside, but they must stay in a roped area. Windows can stay open in the summer. A noise plan must be agreed upon.
There are some new rules, though. A door supervisor is needed after 6 pm when over 100 people book.
Fifteen people backed the council’s review. Over 1,300 supported the pub instead! The landlord, Harry Smith, thanked neighbors.
He said street support made the difference, appreciating neighbors saving the pub. He hopes to stay open many more years. The case is closed now, and he wants everyone to move forward.
