Hey, listen to this about Jubilee Lake. The woodland path closes February 10 for five days. Crews will perform maintenance work there. Locals often walk the trail, especially with dogs. They are closing the path completely, so you cannot access the lake through the woods then.
The council mentioned “ongoing maintenance work,” but they didn’t describe the exact work. The path near the park and cafe stays open. The council apologizes for any problem this causes and values your patience as they do the work.
The lake and reserve are popular places for walking, but they have had many troubles lately. Last September, many dead fish floated in the lake. The Environment Agency investigated the big fish death, reporting in December it was not sewage related.
The town council wants to help the reserve and hopes the woodland work will help fix things. They’re looking into the lake’s water, too, aiming to make it beautiful again.
