Plans approved for 11 new homes near Keady High School after applicant narrowly met deadline, satisfying all conditions.

She actually met them just three days before time ran out. Blackgate Property Services, Ltd. submitted the plans. Esther O’Neill from Armagh is behind the project.
The homes will go up near 14 Madden Grange. Eight of them will be semi-detached houses. Three will be detached. Parking, site access, and other works are included.
Planning officers said an outline plan existed before. This earlier plan approved 11 homes back on November 20, 2020. They visited the site recently. Things haven’t changed much there since then.
The approval from November 20, 2020, had rules. An updated, detailed application was due within three years. This update needed details on building design and access. Landscaping specifics also had to be included. A five-meter strip near the water was needed.
Sewage disposal plans had to be in order, too. The applicant submitted the update on November 17, 2023. That was very close to the deadline. Officers think they met all previous terms.
The new homes will be two stories tall. That matches other houses in Madden Grange. Finishes of the houses will also match. The officers agree the new homes fit the area. The number of houses matches nearby spots.
They think the layout fits with Madden Grange. The new houses won’t be too tall, either. So, they won’t overpower the existing homes. Paved areas will be limited to roads and parking. Hedges and fences will define property lines. Officials believe the home sizes will provide a good living space.
