New owners seek changes to a prior approved plan for the Victoria Hotel, aiming to attract tenants and finalize development.

Back in 2021, a plan got approved. Shops would be on the ground floor, with apartments filling the upper floors. Bradford Council approved this earlier project and it even got money from the Keighley Towns Fund.
Delays then stalled the project. New owners now have the hotel, and a new plan could restart things. Odedra Property Consultants proposed changes, reducing shops by one and turning eleven apartments into ten.
The aim is to attract future tenants, as the building has sat empty a long time. An earlier plan got partially done, with the prior developer leaving for business reasons. New owners want to finish the project and seek changes for future appeal; they state that shops will create local jobs.
Two shops face Cavendish Street, where the apartment entrance also is. A third shop faces East Parade. A decision on the new plan is coming soon.
Keighley MP Robbie Moore likes the plan, stating that the Victoria Hotel is a key landmark. He added that he appreciates progress on it, saying that investment helps renew the town.
Keighley is getting a renewed railway station and a new Aldi store will open. Providence Park is nearly done being built. Plans must move forward quickly, he insists.
Town Mayor Gulfraz Hussain is also happy that finally, progress is happening for the hotel. The building is historic for the town, and using the old site will help Keighley.
