Hey, listen to this news. Kenya Halal Butchers shut down. It’s at 26 Bridge Street. Council officers closed it on March 8, 2024.

They discovered rat nests inside. Rotten food was present too. The shop also smelled like urine. It really was a mess regarding hygiene.

The council got an emergency order. They showed evidence to the court. Rats climbed on food counters, and droppings were under meat counters. The conditions were generally awful.

It’s been eleven months since the closure. No one has reopened the butcher shop, and it doesn’t look like anyone new owns it.

The Kenya Butchers signs are still up. The shop’s interior looks untouched. Scaffolding is set up outside it.

Kenya Butchers Swindon Limited owns the company. Companies House lists it as active, and they confirmed their activities are legal. This happened on September 21.

The shop can only reopen safely. The council must be satisfied first, as customer safety is important.

The council gave no update on the order. We don’t know of any recent actions. Kenya Butchers couldn’t be reached either.
