The Kepax Bridge opened last December 5. It connects Gheluvelt Park to the River Severn’s west side.

Worcestershire County Council is happy about the award nomination. The bridge aims to cut traffic and promote walking and cycling.

Bridge design magazine created the Bridges Awards. The Bridges conference helps organize it, and the Bridge Owners Forum is a partner. The awards honor great bridge projects and occur every two years.

Kepax Bridge could win a design and construction award. This category is for projects over £10 million. Other finalists include Gull Wing Bridge and Herring Bridge. Several companies collaborated on these bridges.

The Bridges Awards value bridge ingenuity. Project management skills are also important because people design, build, and maintain bridges. Foot, road, and rail bridges all count.

They will announce the winners on March 12. The Bridges conference is in Coventry and happens at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
