New proposal seeks to convert the closed White Horse pub into a residence and a more spacious micropub.

Someone wanted to make it a house, but that didn’t work. Another plan was to divide it up. This plan included a home, offices, and a small pub. The council rejected that idea too.
Now, a similar application is in. It’s like the 2021 plan, but has some tweaks. The small pub gets more space this time around. They want a quarter of the ground floor for the pub’s actual bar.
The rest should become a house plus some office space. They also plan to add an annexe and garages. These will go on the building’s back.
A group called Save Our White Horse opposes this. They want to buy and fix up the pub themselves. They want the pub to return to being a real pub. They’re looking at the new plans closely.
The council rejected the last idea partly due to business concerns. They doubted the small pub would succeed. Space was limited, as were the facilities. Council members feared losing the pub forever.
Save Our White Horse thinks the council will reject this plan, too. Not much has changed, according to the group. So far, twelve people object. Nobody supports the idea yet.
The applicant explains their new pub idea more. It would have more seating and no food. This makes it cheaper to run, they claim. The applicant also stated that the council shouldn’t worry. The success of their planned pub is their business only.
