King Charles’ visit to Middlesbrough met with anti-monarchy protests. Demonstrators voice opposition as the King tours.

The group, called ‘Republic,’ voiced opinions. They held flags that said “abolish the monarchy.” Large yellow flags marked their presence. Five or six people carried them. This happened in Centre Square.
The group wants to end the monarchy. They believe this goal is possible. That’s what their website declares. A spokesperson spoke on their website.
They said abolishing the monarchy isn’t too hard. They added it requires effort. The result, worth it, they feel.
King Charles visits Centre Square. He last visited the North East in April 2022. Back then, he visited Bishop Auckland. He also visited Barnard Castle.
He met with farmers that day. He saw Highland Cattle. He also enjoyed tea and cake. This happened in Darlington.
People support and oppose the King. Both lined up hoping to see him. It’s a historic day no matter what.
