Sudbury’s Kingfisher Leisure Centre pool reopens after five months of repairs to the glass roof and pool structure.

The pool closed at the end of August. But the rest of the center stayed open while workers fixed the glass roof. A glass panel above the pool had broken on Friday, August 23.
They also fixed the pool’s structure and replaced some tiles. Babergh District Council owns the leisure center, but Abbeycroft runs the center. It is a not-for-profit group.
A council member, Laura Smith, is happy about the reopening and said swimmer’s safety is the top priority. Warren Smyth also apologized for the closure and thanked everyone for their patience.
However, the wave machine will not work at first. Workers will do outside maintenance soon. Casual swimming starts Saturday, and a full program begins Monday. Lessons also start then, which is the first day of half term.
