Daisy, stolen in 2017, was found in Somerset and reunited with her Norfolk owners after an eight-year search.

The RSPCA returned Daisy to them yesterday, February 6th. The Potters had searched for eight years. They never stopped hoping she would return. Rita and Philip cried happy tears.
Daisy wagged her tail. She recognized her family and home in Old Buckenham, Norfolk. The Potters feared she had died, and were so happy she was found. Rita hugged Daisy saying, “Daisy, you are home.” Daisy nuzzled Rita and wagged her tail. Family gathered for this reunion, as the Potters never gave up hope.
They used press and social media to find Daisy. Actor Tom Hardy shared their posts, and a petition got over 100,000 signatures. It urged action against pet theft.
The Pet Abduction Bill became law in 2024. Stealing a pet is now a specific crime, whereas before, pets were seen as property only. Then Daisy was found alive.
RSPCA Inspector Kim Walters found Daisy on February 3rd in Weston-Super-Mare. The owner said he had Daisy for some years, but could not afford vet care. He signed Daisy over to the RSPCA. A microchip scan revealed she was stolen and had Rita and Philip’s contact details. Kim called them with the good news.
The Potters were shocked and happy. They described their efforts to find Daisy and the RSPCA told them they would bring her home soon. They made sure Daisy could travel. Kim hopes to find the person who stole Daisy; people with information can contact the police.
Daisy needed care, so RSPCA took her to Brent Knoll where she got vet checks and a bath. Daisy received lots of TLC, her tail wagging constantly. A volunteer drove Daisy 250 miles from Somerset and animal rescuer Dave Allen took her home.
Daisy is now back with her family. Family visited, gave treats, and much attention. She rests on a comfy bed. When Daisy went missing, their granddaughter wished for her return. Both are now age thirteen and the wish came true.
