Volunteers detail how donations aided Palestine hospitals, orphanages, and refugees in the West Bank and Jordan.

Volunteers explained how they used the donations. They thanked everyone who gave, big or small amounts. The event was at the Grand Venue over the weekend.
Mayor Hussain Akhtar was part of the BCA team, along with Rizwan Asghar, Adnan Hussain, and Barbar Afzal. Anis Bhad, Ifraz Khan, and Cllr Mahfooz Hussain also participated.
A small team went to Palestine and Jordan. They distributed the funds in January. The money paid for food, supported an orphanage, and helped a hospital.
Cllr Tasleem Fazal introduced the event. He said they showed how they spent the money and wanted to thank all who donated to the cause. The cause supported people in the West Bank and aided those in Jordanian refugee camps, helping brothers and sisters, regardless of religion.
They raised £139,200 in total and Blackburn residents donated it all. Volunteers paid their own travel costs ensuring it reached its intended purpose. Rizwan Akhtar discussed their journey, which started last August, driven by a desire to do something positive.
People were talking about Palestine, but little action was happening. So, they decided to organize a charity walk and asked Blackburn businesses for sponsorships. The group decided to hold three charity events and a bucket collection occurred on Whalley Range.
The group thanked Blackburn people for donating. Razaq Hussain, also known as Raz KFS, shared the money breakdown and they distributed funds in Jordan and the West Bank. They also visited a hospital and orphanage in Palestine.
They trusted their reliable, hardworking, and trustworthy team in those locations. They thanked all cause donors. They thanked Madina Masjid, Raza Masjid, and Jamea Hasmi, as well as Ghosiya Masjid on Chester Street for help and all who helped every Saturday.
SDP Media also received thanks for their support, as volunteers support Palestinian refugees who were forced to leave their homes.
Cllr Mahfooz Hussain spoke about the future and his desire to continue this work. He said many young people collect for Palestine and emphasized the importance of supporting them. He also highlighted that it was a team effort, with people of all ages collecting the funds and emphasized the women’s involvement.
They should keep working together, regardless of whether it’s for Gaza or other causes.
