The old Lanchester Fish Bar closed in autumn 2024. The owners retired from the village staple, and two brothers now run it after a big renovation and rebrand.

Rich and Aidan Weatherburn announced changes online last November. They said they took over the fish and chip shop, as the previous owner started retirement.

The new name is Grandpa’s Fish Bar, and they want to continue the tradition. They will serve the same tasty food, making it a family business in the community.

Grandpa’s Fish Bar will reopen in early March, and Rich and Aidan are excited to share their love for food with the village. Rich Weatherburn said they can’t wait to open. He and his brother love food, and he enjoys making classic dishes the best they can be, as fish and chips are a British classic.

Aidan is thankful to the people of Lanchester, and local businesses also helped. They did job interviews at Crinnions pub while renovations happened.

Aidan thanked everyone for their support and looks forward to welcoming them to the brand new fish and chip shop. This business is special to them both as their first project as brothers. They named it after their grandad, who would be proud to see them working together.
